The Committee for the Scrutiny of the First Minister is holding a general scrutiny session on 26 April 2024 with the new First Minister, Vaughan Gething MS. We’ve produced a briefing setting out the pledges made by Vaughan Gething during the Welsh Labour leadership campaign, and commitments made since he became First Minister.

We’ve also recently published an article on the Welsh Government’s legislative programme, in light of the change in First Minister.

The Committee is also holding a session at its meeting on 26 April regarding Care Experienced Children. It’s a policy area that’s the focus of a range of Programme for Government commitments and has been scrutinised by a range of Senedd Committees. We’ve published a separate briefing on the subject.

The Committee’s meeting can be watched live, or afterwards, on SeneddTV. A transcript will be available a few days later. afterwards.
