Storm overflows explained

This week Senedd Members will debate a legislative proposal on the impact of storm overflows, also known as Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs).

The Environment Act 2021 introduced provisions requiring a reduction in discharges from storm overflows. It received a significant amount of media attention. However, the provisions apply to sewerage undertakers operating in England only, with no equivalent provisions in relation to Wales.
