Published 16/11/2023   |   Reading Time minutes

The Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) (Wales) Bill has now reached Stage 3 of the legislative process.

Stage 2 of the Bill’s scrutiny (the committee amending stage) concluded in the Climate Change, Environment and Infrastructure Committee on 11 October 2023.

The Committee considered 87 amendments. Twenty two were agreed – 17 of which were government amendments. We’ve produced a summary of the stage 2 proceedings, describing the amendments and their fate.

The amended Bill is now at Stage 3 (the Plenary amending stage) and further amendments are being tabled by Members of the Senedd. Selected amendments are due to be debated and voted on in Plenary on 21 November. You can watch proceedings for the debate live on Senedd TV.

Further detail on the Bill’s provisions and its scrutiny during Stage 1 is available on our Bill resource page.
