The Welsh Government introduced the Renting Homes (Amendment) (Wales) Bill to the Senedd on 10 February 2020.

The Bill will amend the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 to provide greater security of tenure for people who rent their home – mainly in the private rented sector. Among other changes, the Bill will extend the minimum period of notice that a landlord must give under a ‘no-fault’ eviction. This is where the contract-holder has not broken a term of the contract.

Our updated Bill Summary provides further information and outlines amendments made to the Bill at Stage 2.

Stage 3 scrutiny will take place in the Senedd on 10 February 2021.
