The Research Service has published a Research Paper on the levels of young people who are not in education, employment or training in Wales. 
This research paper provides an overview of the most recent statistics on the levels of young people (aged 16 – 24) who are not in education, employment or training, which were published on 24 July 2013. It also sets out the recent and current policy context of strategies and programmes designed to address what has proven to be a long-term and stubborn problem in Wales and beyond. Some of the wider challenges and issues relating to this subject are also explored. A new framework for youth engagement and progression will succeed and replace the Youth Engagement and Employment Action Plan for 2011-2015 (expected in autumn 2013).
