This briefing provides a quick guide to the ‘call-in’ process for planning applications. When a planning application is called-in the Welsh Government has the power to assume responsibility from a local planning authority and therefore decide whether or not planning permission is granted. This briefing describes what types of planning applications can be called-in and it gives an overview of how the call-in process works.
