This is our second in a series of infographics which tries to explore how some of the key reporting and planning requirements of three flagship pieces of Welsh legislation, the Future Generations Act, the Planning Act and the Environment Bill, might fit and work together. In our post published on 7 July we sought to set out, over a ten-year timeline, the sequence of the new reporting and planning duties. In this infographic we try to demonstrate two things. Firstly the links currently included within the legislation and the secondly the links that stakeholders in Wales have suggested in their evidence to the Assembly should be included. Definite links already in the legislation or otherwise confirmed by the Welsh Government are denoted by solid arrows whilst potential links suggested by stakeholders are shown as dotted lines. The infographic demonstrates that on the whole organisations would like to see more definitive links made between the legislation than are currently included. The Environment and Sustainability Committee is still gathering evidence and formulating its views on the Environment Bill and is keen to hear from as many interested people as possible. If you haven’t yet given your views you can do so via the survey the Committee is conducting. It will be open until 10 August 2015.
