The Disused Mine and Quarry Tips (Wales) Bill has now reached Stage 3 of the legislative process.
Stage 2 of the Bill’s scrutiny (the committee amending stage) concluded in the Climate Change, Environment and Infrastructure Committee on 4 June 2025.
The Committee considered 98 tabled amendments to the Bill. There were 16 Welsh Government amendments, all of which were agreed. Of the 82 opposition amendments, two were agreed, two were withdrawn, three were not moved and 75 fell.
The amended Bill is now at Stage 3 (the Plenary amending stage) and further amendments are being tabled by Members. Stage 3 amendments are due to be debated and voted on in Plenary on 8 July. You can watch proceedings for the debate live on Senedd TV.
